Great Walks In Berrima: No.5 The Stone Quarry Walk

Updated: Feb 4, 2020

Track: Some short but steep inclines and stairs.

Fitness: Average

Time: Allow 10 mins

The Stone Quarry Walk provides access to a delightful stretch of the Wingecarribee River where Platypus can frequently be seen frolicking. Positioned just behind the HolyTrinity Anglican Church, the walk is one of the village's quickest - just a 20 minute return trip from Oldbury Cottage.

How To Get There

As you leave Oldbury Cottage, turn left and head down Oldbury Street to the Old Hume Highway where you will turn right. Cross the bridge into Berrima Village and turn right at the Alpaca Centre. Walk up Market Place towards the Holy Trinity Anglican Church.

To the right of the church, enter the track via the stone ramparts. Seats are found along the track, looking over the Wingecarribee River.

If you are quiet enough, Platypus can be seen in the mornings and afternoons.
