Top Southern Highlands Vineyards Near Berrima

If you like the idea of exploring the cellar door trail, then you're in for a treat at Oldbury Cottage.


Enjoy fine dining at exceptional restaurants and cafes in Berrima, then venture afield through the Food and Wine Clusters , which are all within a stone's throw. Spend a day exploring country lanes then come home, light the fire, and sit back to savour your latest purchase.


Vineyard Tour Companies


The Southern Highlands offers an outstanding smorgasbord of award-winning vineyards, with many receiving acknowledgement in Gourmet Traveller WINE'S Best Cellar Door Awards. The cellar door experience is sophisticated, with many offering food on-site and a polished welcome.


Cool-climate varieties are the cornerstone here. Riesling, chardonnay and pinot noir lead the way. Full-bodied reds come from neighbouring regions such as Orange and the Hilltops – always clearly identified on the label.

PepperGreen Estate



Previously an antiques and homewares department store, PepperGreeen Estate is a tastefully furnished cellar door, tasting room and café. And... it's just a few footsteps from Oldbury Cottage.


A talented team of staff includes ex-Qantas Sommelier in the Sky, Greg Elliott. Food is crafted by the experienced team of Mark Chance and James Thompson.


It's a fabulous place for breakfast, if you're looking for a comfortable and elegant start, a little later in the morning.


Don’t forget the range of extra virgin olives oils and other classy merchandise.


Bendooley Estate



Closest to Oldbury Cottage, at just four minutes drive away, Bendooley Estate scored 'Cellar Door with Best Food'. There's also the great Berkelouw Book Barn to explore, while you're there.


Mount Ashby Estate


If you feel like some wine, a homemade soup with crusty bread or perhaps a Charcuterie Plate, then head to Mount Ashby boutique vineyard & cellar door.


Sit around the French Farmhouse Tables, within the restored original dairy and enjoy the view of the vineyard surrounded by grazing dairy cattle (Holstein).


The architecture is a blend of French provincial and early Australian, and is in sympathy with the host's involvement in the importation and restoration of French Antique furniture, examples of which are always on view at the cellar door.


There's also the relocated Bowral Produce Store (circa 1918), now used to restore provincial antique furniture and European antique furniture - Provincial 17th to 19th Century antiques. You'll also find French Farmhouse Tables.


Southern Highlands Winery



Just an eleven minute drive down to Sutton Forest is Southern Highlands Winery, which picked up Best Large Cellar Door.


Tertini Wines


Tertini Wines, which is just eleven minutes to the north - in the direction of Wombeyan Caves - won 'Bes Tasting Experience'.


Cherry Tree Hill

The Cherry Tree Hill vineyard produces award winning premium wines. The Lorentz family have owned and run the property for over 30 years now and have been producing grapes since 2003. They offer a variety of light meals and snacks, including Local Tasting Boards and Gourmet Pies.


Artemis Wines

Artemis Wines, which is just an eleven minute drive from Oldbury Cottage, picked up Best Small Cellar Door. It's a great place to enjoy sensational gourmet pizzas amongst the vines in a classic Australiana setting.


Centennial Vineyards

Centennial Vineyards, a nine minute drive from Oldbury Cottage, picked up Star Cellar Door in the awards. Its most outstanding wine is considered NV Centennial Vineyards Blanc de Blancs - $40 per bottle.
